Thrift With a Purpose

About

JRM Stores

“Thrift with a purpose”

The first JRM Store was founded in 2010 in Anderson, South Carolina, as a way to generate funds for the mission.
In August, 2021, we opened a second location in Abbeville, SC, and expanded again to Goshen, Indiana in March, 2023.

We are a thrift store supporting Jamaica Relief Ministries, accepting gently used donations.
We have been extremely blessed with generous donations, and as a result, our store is filled
with merchandise from pretty much every category; furniture, clothing, shoes, appliances, linens,
books, toys, household items, home decor, electronics, and much more!

Our vision is to work together to support the mission, shining the light of Jesus
to the guests who come through our door, and creating a positive influence in our communities.

Please contact us for information on how you can help by volunteering or donating!

Jamaica Relief Ministries History

The dream of Jamaica Relief Ministries began in 1989 when Hurricane Gilbert caused extensive damage in Jamaica. Short term work/ministry teams were organized and brought to the island to repair homes, schools, and churches. Because of the tremendous needs, teams continued to come over the next 10 years. It was finally decided that a full time staff presence was needed to better serve the people of Jamaica. In November of 2001, Floyd and Ellen Yoder came and pioneered the work of JRM.

Jamaica Relief Ministries is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization involved in various child and family related ministries in Jamaica.

Our programs allow us have a meaningful impact to over100 children and their families every week!

Jamaica Relief Ministries Mission

Our Mission is to show Christ’s love to the people of Jamaica, especially children and families, and to build the Kingdom of God through each of our ministries.

Organizational Values

Hope: We will be hope-filled people, sharing the hope of Jesus and hope of a better future to each child, family, and fellow staff member.

Compassion: We will serve with the compassion of Jesus as we reach out to children healing from a traumatic past.

Family: We will be a family to children who need one and to each other as we work together. We will stick together and work through difficult things because we are a family.

Growth: We will promote developmental and personal growth throughout the organization, from the youngest child to the oldest staff member.
